Terms of Service
Last updated August 8, 2026
These terms are the agreement between Househound (“we”, “us”) and the person or business using the Service (“you”). By creating an account or using Househound, you agree to them. If you’re agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you’re authorized to do so.
The Service
Househound is software for home-inspection businesses: scheduling, inspection reports with photos and video, client communication, agreements, invoicing, and report delivery. We provide the tools. We do not perform inspections, and we don’t supervise, endorse, or verify the work of any Inspector using the Service.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 and provide accurate account information.
- You’re responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
- If you invite team members, you’re responsible for their use of the Service and for the permissions you grant them.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you put into Househound — your inspection reports, photos, video, templates, and client records (“Your Content”). You grant us only the license we need to run the Service: to store, process, back up, and transmit Your Content so we can display it to you and deliver it to the people you choose.
You’re responsible for Your Content, including having the right to capture and share photos of a property and to contact the people whose details you enter.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law or infringe anyone’s rights using the Service.
- Send spam, or send email through the Service to people who haven’t agreed to hear from you.
- Attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the Service, access another organization’s data, or circumvent usage limits.
- Resell or white-label the Service without our written agreement.
We may suspend an account that puts the Service or other customers at risk.
Fees and payment
- Paid plans are billed per seat on a recurring basis, in advance, through our payment processor. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
- You can cancel at any time; your plan stays active through the end of the period you’ve paid for and does not renew after that.
- If a payment fails, we’ll try again and may limit or suspend paid features until it’s resolved.
- Client payments. When you collect an inspection fee from your client through Househound, the funds go to your own connected payment account, and we retain a platform fee of 1% of that charge. Your payment processor’s own fees also apply. You are the merchant of record for those charges — including for refunds and disputes.
- We may change our prices with at least 30 days’ notice before your next renewal.
Your clients
You decide who receives your reports and what your agreements with your clients say. Your relationship with your clients — including the scope of an inspection, your own terms, and any professional liability — is between you and them. We are not a party to it.
Availability
We work to keep the Service available and to protect your data, but we don’t promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change or discontinue features; if we materially reduce something you rely on, we’ll give reasonable notice.
Your data on termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Before you do, export or download anything you want to keep. After deletion we remove or de-identify your information as described in our Privacy Policy, and we are not obliged to retain it.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Features that draft or suggest text automatically are aids — you are responsible for reviewing everything that goes into a report you sign.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your relationship with your clients.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we’ll notify account holders by email or in-app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [state/jurisdiction to be specified], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts located there will have exclusive jurisdiction.
